What spices go in Thai soup?

Common spices and herbs used in Thai soup include lemongrass, galangal (Thai ginger), kaffir lime leaves, Thai basil, cilantro, chili peppers, and Thai curry paste. These ingredients contribute to the distinctive flavour profile of Thai soups, which can range from spicy and aromatic to tangy and savory. Additionally, Thai soups may also contain ingredients such as coconut milk, garlic, and garlic chili sauce, which add creaminess, depth of flavour, and heat to the dish.

What should I eat with Thai Carrot Soup?

Our Thai Carrot Soup pairs well with a variety of side dishes. Traditional side dishes include steamed jasmine rice, sticky rice, or rice noodles for added texture and to help balance the spicy flavours. We also recommend adding fresh herbs like cilantro and Thai basil, as well as lime wedges, served on the side to enhance the soup’s freshness and brightness. For a more substantial meal, consider serving Thai Carrot Soup with grilled meat, seafood, or tofu skewers.

How many calories are in coconut milk?

The calorie content of coconut milk can vary depending on factors such as the brand, type (full-fat, light, or reduced-fat), and serving size. On average, one cup (240 ml) of canned coconut milk contains approximately 445 calories. However, light or reduced-fat coconut milk may have fewer calories, typically ranging from 150 to 200 calories per cup (240 ml).

The best carrot soup I’ve had! Great consistency with just a little kick of spice at the end. No need to add anything to it, just warm and eat!

Thanks Judy for reviewing our new carrot soup! We think this will soon become a customer new fav!

  2. Andy Hodgins (verified owner)

Hi, very tasty Thai-Coconut soup. I added my personal flair to it by adding in giant shrimps and added some more pepper flakes to it to kick it up a notch as I like it spicy.

    • Liz Pietrzak

Andy.. wow love the idea adding the giant shrimp! I’m planning to write “what else you can do with soup” and will absolutely add this option. Thanks Liz
